Why did you choose to go to Stockholm, Sweden?

To choose somewhere which doesn't strike me as a holiday destination and because in regards to Business, it has a very good university.

How long does the grant last? How much money do you receive as aid?

I received 2 grants: one of €450 from the Basque Government and the other from Kutxa of €400. For some strange reason, they didn't give me the Erasmus grant...

How is student life in Stockholm?

It's a delight. It has a lot of exchange students from every corner of the globe. Getting to know different cultures just depends on your desire to 'socialise' with each one.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Stockholm to other students?

Without a shadow of a doubt. From my point of view, it has been an incredible experience. Of course, the people I have shared it wtih have also helped.

How is the country's food?

The food is good and of a high quality. The problem is the price. Normally, we used to go to Lidl given that the quality-price ratio is the best. However, it all depends on the area in which each person lives.

How did you find accommodation?

The university provided me with accommodation. To find it on your own is very complicated and the university housing office provides accommodation with other students (the majority are exchange students).

How are the accommodation prices? And the general prices?

Truthfully, I don't know. I stuck with the University accommodation offer.

How is the language? Did you go to any course in the University?

Everyone speaks English there, so communicating isn't a huge problem.

The university itself gives classes in Swedish, in which you can reach level 2 by going for a semester and applying what you learn.

What is the most affordable way of getting to Stockholm from your city?

I flew from Bilbao to Arlanda, with a layover in Barcelona. To return, I flew Arlanda-Madrid-Bilbao. However, they Ryanair have now added a flight from Biarritz.

Which places would you recommend to go out and party in Stockholm?

There are many places depending on what style each person likes. I personally think it is worth going to Café Opera because of how beautiful the place is. On the other hand, there are also Pure, Lobby, Spy Bar and Ambassador... There are many places. Registering on the guest-list so you can avoid paying the entry fee if you go before X o'clock is important.

And to go out to eat in Stockholm? Can you cite your favourite places?

Truthfully with how expensive the prices were, I didn't go out to eat much there. McDonalds with the McSaver hamburgers at 10kr turned into the best option, as well the Max (Swedish Mcdonalds), which seemed better to me if you are interested in eating a set meal option.

And for cultural visits?

There is Vasa Museum, Fotografiska, Skansen, Naturiska and Moderna Musset... There are many interesting museums. Which one to go to depends on individual taste, although if I had to choose two, I would choose Vasa and Skansen.

In some of them, the entry is free from a certain hour on a certain day of the week. It's just a question of looking and choosing the one which appeals to you the most.

Any advise that you would like to give to future students in Stockholm?

Enjoy it and don't go leaving things up until the last minute because in the end, time goes flying by and you realize that you haven't done even half the things that you wanted.
