While my stay in Steyr, Austria, we have decided to try something unusual and not typically-Austrian. Our choice was the only Mexican restaurant in Steyr - Tex Mex.
Tex Mex is considered as a fancy restaurant. The prices are pretty high for Austria, people come here to celebrate some events. It is good to book a table in advance, there might be everything full for the whole day.
Tex Mex is located in the yard on the main square, you can enter it through the hotel situated nearby.
The design is very nice, made in traditional Mexican style - you can find sombreros everywhere. Interior is done in bright warm colours so you start feeling cozy in this place when you just enter the restaurant.
Since we were totally hungry and not so fond of experimenting with spicy food, we ordered burritos. It took quite a long time of waiting because of many clients but finally they brought us our food served in a very interesting way. Bread was lying in the small Mexican hat and the other food was lying on the traditional Mexican plates. The portions were so big that we had to take-away the leftovers.
We were also interested in taking some drinks so we ended up drinking beer with tequila. I should say it is just a marketing way to gain more customers. This beer is low-alcohol and has a sweet taste which is far from tasting like tequila. Anyways, it was a good experience.
I would advice this place to those who like Mexican food. Book a table, come with your friends and enjoy their company eating delicious food
