Why did you choose to go to Split, Croatia?

Split is an amazing city with a miraculous history. I like waking up to the landscape of the sea and the sunshine. The weather is much better than Hungary because it's warmer.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I am staying the whole year. I applied for a Mundi schoolarship, so it's enough for me to pay the apartment and food in the univeristy canteen.

What is the student lifestyle like in Split?

The student lifesyle is so exciting, there are parties every Wednesday and there are a lot of events for Erasmus students. Every weekend there's a party somewhere.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Split to other students?

Yes, of course. I would recommend the city and university to other students because of the city, language and kind people.

What is the food like?

I always eat in the canteen/mensa. It is so cheap. For example, one dinner or lunch is around 8-12 HRK (€1-1. 60), and it includes soup, a main course, a cake, a drink and fruit.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Split?

In Split the accommodations are around €130-250/month per person.

How much does it cost to live in Split?

Accommodation is around €160 and mensa is around 500 HRK/month (€67).

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I am attending a Croatian course, so I will get ECTS. It is easier for me, because I learnt Slovakian. The course takes place 3 times a week for 2 hours each day, so it's enough, you can learn the language.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Split from your city?

Honestly I don't use public transport, because I don't need it, I can get anywhere in about 30 minutes.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Split?

At night I like walking around the old town, it's so beautiful because of lights and the sea. Lots of Erasmus students go to Zenta, Matrijoska and Ghetto. There are a lot of caffes in Split with so many different styles.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Split?

Until now I haven't eaten in a restaurant, because the mensa is good and cheap.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There are museums, exhibitions, theatres and the best part of the city is the old town.
