What is it like to live in Split? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Split is my home town and I am especially in love with the weather and the sea! It is really close to a lot of islands like Brac, Hvar and Vis and I would reccomend visiting them in Spring or Summer :)
What is the student lifestyle like in Split?
Most of the faculties and the dorm are located at the student campus where you have a lot of coffee shops and bakeries. You can walk from the campus to the center of the city and it will take you approx. 20 minutes. Ask locals for cool and cheap places to go out!
How much does it cost to live in Split?
Well a cup of coffe is usually around 1. 5 euros, and a large domestic lager around 2 euros
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Split? Is there any advice you can give?
Hmmm try facebook groups using croatian words like "iznajmljujem", "stanovi" etc. Use google translate
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Mediterranean cuisine is the best. Try everything from fishes to prosciutto. And wine!
What places would you recommend visiting in Split?
Just get yourself lost in the roman center of the city. The best way to explore!
Is it good to eat out in Split? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Always ask the locals. Try Fife buffet and others underneath the Marjan hill
Is the nightlife good in Split? Where is good to go?
Depends on the music you like, but you can always visit a wide variety of pubs. Try tripadvisor
What advice would you give future students heading to Split?
Everything goes slow in Split. Don't rush, take your time and relax!
