What is it like to live in Sofia? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Sofia is the capital of Bulgaria. The city is small- you can reach any place in the city using public transport. It's super cheap compared to other European cities. Mostly Bulgarian people know English. You could perfectly find a job if you speak English, Spanish, Italian, Finish, Turkish, German ect. Lately there are more and more incoming international students.

What is the student lifestyle like in Sofia?

As a student in Sofia I can tell being a student here is pretty easy. If you are organized you could perfectly have time for sports, part-time job, study and of course go partying.

How much does it cost to live in Sofia?

As I already said it is pretty cheap living in Sofia. The food, accomadation, clothes ect are cheap.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Sofia? Is there any advice you can give?

Can't say it's easy, but again, compared to other cities it's easier. You could perfectly find accomadations(room or flat) here for less than 300€. I know there are some dorms in "Studentski grad" neighbourhood, which are pretty cheap but the conditions aren't very pleasant.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Well, Bulgarian food is something different you might have never tried. It's rich, we have many things. But if you are not a fan of our cuisine, there are plenty not expensive grill-bars, sushi bars, Italian, Chinese, Turkish restaurants and so one. My favorite ones are Happy bar and grill (you might have heard of it, they have it in Spain, too), Raffy and Sasa.

What places would you recommend visiting in Sofia?

The National Theater, The Church St. Sofia, The Catedral St. Nevski and many many things around Sofia or the cities nearby. Also traveling in Bulgaria is so cheap so you could perfectly can explore Bulgaria in your free time.

Other thing is that Bulgaria has many Mountains, the closest one to Sofia is Vitosha Mountain.

Is it good to eat out in Sofia? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I already told you about them, but I'm gonna repeat - Raffy, Happy bar and grill, Sasa and many more. Eating out is good and not expensive in Sofia.

Is the nightlife good in Sofia? Where is good to go?

Yes. I could say yes here. Sofia has many clubs. They are two different kinds. One of them are with Bulgarian music, but if not a fan, I would recommend you to try out Bedroom, Exe, Sugar, City Stage, Terminal 1, Mix tape.

What advice would you give future students heading to Sofia?

Sofia is nice and cheap place to live. If you find friends to travel and party with, you will fully enjoy your stay here.
