What is it like to live in Sofia? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Sofia is interesting. The city has a lot of parks, a lot of clubs, restaurants and caffes and also a lot of monuments, which most of the people haven't seen.

The first couple of years it was a lot of parties and a lot of studying, the last two years of my study were lots of studying and lots of working.

How much does it cost to live in Sofia?

400 euros per month would be more than enough for living and partying and if you're in a students dorm you can live with 200 euros per month.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Sofia? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not difficult if you know Bulgarian. The tourism in Bulgaria is not like that in the megapolis, which means that fraud is not so common.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is just brilliant. The first thing that came to my mind when I had to leave to study abroad was missing the food. You can try musaka, tarator, "shopska salata", "shkembe chorba" etc.

The nightlife is very interesting, but it depends on the music you'd like to hear.

  • Hip-hop and R&B: Jim Beam and Sugar

  • Pop-folk: BIAD, Plaza, etc.

What advice would you give future students heading to Sofia?

Do more studying and less partying and try not to lose your mind in the Student's town.
