What is it like to live in Sofia? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Sofia is always interesting. There is a lot to do. In the center you have a lot of shops, caffe's , theatres, cinema, gardens and parks. In the summer people hang around rveywhere. It's a very sociable city. There is plenty of wi fi aswell ..haha One of the BEST things about Sofia is that we have the Vitosha mointain right next to it. Its an amazing place to spend the day hiking.

What is the student lifestyle like in Sofia?

Taking account of what I said about the city in general, the student life could also be very dynamic and fun in the free time. There are quite a few universities in Sofia so there are students also.

How much does it cost to live in Sofia?

It's one of the chepest places in Europe (or.maybe the cheapest) so I guess fellow europeans will feel pretty wealthy here during their experience. 1 euro equals 2 bulgarian lecs so you'll have plenty to spend. It depends on your lifestyle.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Sofia? Is there any advice you can give?

Accomodation can be found on internet quite a lot and the university dorms are extremely cheap and situated in a part of the city named "studrnt town". If you would like to have a bit.more comfort you might want a private housing though.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You can find very different kinds of food around the city. Bulgarian food, italian food, susho etc. Bulgarian food is delicious so you could try some dishes in restaurants.

What places would you recommend visiting in Sofia?

The national theatre "Ivan Vazov", NDK, Cathedral st. Alexander Nevski, Borisova gradina park, Vitosha mountain, Confetti gelateria on Graf Ignatiev street and quite a lot more nice places to hang out and make friends :)

Is it good to eat out in Sofia? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It is good. There are a lot of restaurants with gardens in beautiful locations. some nice places are : Fly bar, O shipka pizza house, Dvete halbi, and many more that I just can't recall now . You will bump into them walking around thr city.

Is the nightlife good in Sofia? Where is good to go?

There are many clubs and pubs to have fun at night. From typical bulgarian music, rock, r&b, pop etc.

What advice would you give future students heading to Sofia?

Be carefull on the airport when picking a cab make sure you ask how much they charge because if they want an amount of 30 euro or something its a lie. Anyway most bulgarians are hospitalic and would love to help you find your way around if they know ebglish
