What is it like to live in Sofia? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

What is it like to live in Sofia?
Sofia is a large city with nearly 2 million inhabitants and in the last few years it has acquired a new and modern look. And this development is felt in many aspects of restaurants, clubs, theaters, cinema and music ... Life there is a mix, you can fall in love with it I think there is everything you need for a student, and you can see only the negative things in It's unfortunately they have them. My opinion is life there is an atmosphere that I find it hard to describe is best to experience.
Would you recommend it?
Of course, I would recommend it to people who love tourism and are interested in the Balkan mores. I think Bulgaria is a paradise and its beauty is unparalleled and because we have a mountain and a sea I think it is the perfect combination for great fun.
What is the city like?
The town is great at the foot of Mount Vitosha, built on ancient history. It contains everything.
The city is overcrowded and has quite a lot of congestion. Another bonus is the irregular or inadequate urban transport, which does not work at night. There are shops and pharmacies that are non-stop and in principle work until 21:00.

What is the student lifestyle like in Sofia?

Deeply conforming to the standard has life.

How much does it cost to live in Sofia?

With 500 euros can live in Sofia without problems, with accommodation.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Sofia? Is there any advice you can give?

I can not say I do not know in which dormitories accommodate foreign students, but I would advise to know in advance where the accommodation because we have refurbished units where everything is fine, but those which had not been repaired.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is Bulgarian national cuisine, of course in restaurants everything can be found. Our specialties that are holding are banitsa, moussaka, meatballs, sarmis, barbecue, stuffed peppers to taste our lutenitsa, our appetizers and spices. You must try the Shopska salad and also the shepherd salad. Our yoghurt and Bulgarian cheese are unique. If you want to try natural blue cheese I recommend you go to Cherni Vit village and of course Bulgarian wine unmatched by quality and taste and our strong rakiq. Have a jam of roses, it is very enjoyable. And when they try Garash cake to think about Bulgaria, because it has become known first here.

What places would you recommend visiting in Sofia?

All sights
kopitoto - is located in the Vitosha Mountain but has a great view of the whole town.

Is it good to eat out in Sofia? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

My favorite restaurants in Sofia
Don Tomat - normal pizza
Spaghetti kitchen - located in the center, making nice cocktails.
Arbat -Russian restaurant, interesting cuisine definitely.
The restaurants around the National Palace of Culture in the direction of Vitosha Boulevard are my favorite, but only looking at pizzerias. Right in this direction there is a restaurant, think garden is said before him sell the most emblematic pizza for the whole of Sofia, it is great. This restaurant is my favorite is great service and a huge menu and pleasant atmosphere. And towards the end of Vitosha Boulevard is Mac Donalds, next to it is a small bakery, you must try the pastry with lentils and cake with apples.
