Experience in Sofia, Bulgaria by Aleks
What is it like to live in Sofia? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Sofia is the most suitable city for young people in Bulgaria. There are a lot of Universities and a lot of parties. That applies if you are looking for a city which is dynamic. The central part of the city is beautiful. If you live in the university village you have to be careful and in my opinion it`s not good place to live. There are cultural monuments and museums in the central part of the city again.
What is the student lifestyle like in Sofia?
There are different opportunities. If you want a party lifestyle you will find where to practice! If you want to enjoy the nature, there is a mountain which is very closed to the city and it`s suitable for trecking, walking and enjoying the beauty of the nature. In the student village there is University - National Sports Academy which has a lot of halls for different sports. For example climbing is my favourite.
How much does it cost to live in Sofia?
You can live for 100-150 euro per month with other students in the central part of Sofia, which is recommended.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Sofia? Is there any advice you can give?
It`s not so easy and the reason is that the most adults here don`t speak English. But if you have a Buddy he/she can help you.
