Why did you choose to go to Sofia, Bulgaria?
I didn't have a lot of places to choose from, but it seemed like it would be easy to pass my classes here and a very cheap place to live.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
9 months. €350 a month.
What is the student lifestyle like in Sofia?
The student environment is very good, there's a neighbourhood just for students, everything is geared towards them. There are a lot of Turkish people here, too.
Would you recommend the city and the university of Sofia to other students?
If you're interested in saving money and passing your classes easily, yes.
What is the food like there?
The food isn't great. But it's healthy and it's very cheap to eat in the restaurants there.
Was it difficult to find accommodation in Sofia?
Not at all.
How much does it cost to live in Sofia?
You can live like a king for €500 a month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the university?
It's not very good and the courses are all full. But there are some pretty good English academies, which are very inexpensive.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Sofia from your home city?
Flying with Wizzair.
Where would you recommend for a night out in Sofia?
Cotton, Captain Morgan, jean bim.
And to eat in Sofia? What are some of your favourite places to go?
Restaurante happy, djumayata.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
There's nothing to visit here.
Do you have any advice for students coming to Sofia in the future?
Be careful with the taxi drivers.
