Because of the location, from sofia you can travel to many places for a very cheap price

What is the student lifestyle like in Sofia?

The erasmus in sofia has several events, the ESN from sofia is amazing and organizes several group trips to several places in bulgaria and also in romania, you have party all week, and events from the ESN all week as well!
The party’s from the ESN are great and it’s a great way to meet new people! Make sure you have a budy (with the ESN) because he can help you with anythibg you need , and it will be essential in the first weeks of you amazing adventure

Would you recommend the city and the University of Sofia to other students?

100% yes!

What is the food like?

The food is very different from my country, it has a lot of potatos and meet, it’s a very heavy food , but you find lot’s of restaurants for every type of people and taste, and again very cheap!
Usually around 6-8€ you have a good meal in a restaurant

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Sofia?

A lot, it is very hard to find, but with the help of some groups in facebook and some imobiliary websites I found the perfect apartment with great location

How much does it cost to live in Sofia?

250€ a month to 350€

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is very hard, but there are language courses available in the university for free

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Sofia from your city?

From my city is by airplane because it’s to far away and I had to take always 2 flights to get here because there are no direct flights from portugal to sofia

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Sofia?

Defenitly to the gramaphone club with latino music , or to some techno clubs, people here listen a lot of techno so there are lot’s of clubs with that type of music

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Sofia?

Mr pizza, dino’s, domino’s, italian restaurants

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Several, you can see the main parts of the city in one day
Alexander nevsky’s cathedral is the best place to visit during day or night, vitosha street, national palace of culture, national theatre, and several other monuments you can see
