To learn English

Would you recommend the city and the University of Sligo to other students?

The University of Sligo is very welcoming and the city is small but you have some beachs and mountains close to the city

What is the food like?

In Ireland doesn't exist a tradicional food

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Sligo?

A little, you have to looking for the accommodation previously time of your arrival.

How much does it cost to live in Sligo?

Sligo and Ireland in general is expensive, the full year,around 7000€

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

in the beginning is difficult to understand the teachers and the people in general, but 2 months ago you will improve your listening skills and it would be better.

NO, there isn't any language course available at the University.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Sligo from your city?

bus and later plane.

The bus costs around 20€ with student discount and the train 24. The train is more confortable but you will take a bus to the city center( Dublin) to the Airport.The bus,however, it will leave you in the airport's door with more gift but its longer the way(3 hour and a half), while the train is 3 hour.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Sligo?

There are some Irish's pubs very interesting:
1. Mcgarrigles

3.The Swagman
4. Garavogue( disco)
5. Lola montez( disco)

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Sligo?

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There is a cathedral in the city centre

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Sligo in the future?

Sligo its a city to enjoy the landscape not to enjoy with the erasmus students, because mainly of them are French and they are all the time together. Also, the city is very small and you probably willbe bored there
