What is it like to live in Siena? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Siena is an old city with narrow streets and nice piazzas. The city is pretty small, I went running around it and used only 1, 5 hours.

What is the student lifestyle like in Siena?

I went to the EILC (Erasmus Intensive Language Course) at Università per stranieri di Siena. It was great. I didn't know anybody before I went, but now I have many good friends from Siena!

How much does it cost to live in Siena?

I paid 300 euros for one month in a shared room in a shared apartment.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Siena? Is there any advice you can give?

No, just try to book ahead, maybe 2 months before. We booked the apartment through airbnb. It worked out very nice.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Very good! I loved the aperitivo after school, and then some pasta before going to bed!

What places would you recommend visiting in Siena?

The Piazza del Campo, the Duomo, the tower, the churces and the gardens.

Is it good to eat out in Siena? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yeah! Trattoria in the main street near Gramsci was great!

Is the nightlife good in Siena? Where is good to go?

Very good. Small bars, no big night clubs. The cuban bar, the "Balcan" bar...

What advice would you give future students heading to Siena?

Enjoy! I was there in february, out of the tourist season. I think thats the best. I get to speak more to the locals and its not overcrowded in the streets.
