Why did you choose to go to Siena, Italy?

have always wanted to come to italy

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

no scholarship

What is the student lifestyle like in Siena?

school is good, people are nice, keep in mind Siena is a small touristy town. Make good friends and you will always have something to do.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Siena to other students?

yes

What is the food like?

Its tasty, but as a Latin American it is not so easy to find a variety of food that at least I am used to.
Italian food is great, and you get a lot of food for your money.
There are also a variety of other food types like asian, and the ever present Kebap.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Siena?

yes!!!
it was the hardest thing about moving here, I am only staying short term and all of the people renting were looking for year or at least 6 month contracts.

How much does it cost to live in Siena?

aproximately $500 a month including expenses, food, going out, and not being frugal.
it can be less if you are good at budgeting

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

for me it was, I speak spanish so it made it easier. there are language courses, also Siena Hostel offers italian classes much cheaper and you will love the staff there.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Siena from your city?

airplane to florence, bus to siena. Take the rapido it goes directly to piazza gramsci in about an hr, a lot less time than on the train

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Siena?

bella vista, irish pub, depending how young el cambio

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

almost everything in Siena is a cultural site, dont forget to visit the surrounding areas

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Siena in the future?

rain boots and an umbrella (fall/winter time), comfortable shoes, patience for the tourists :D have an open mind
