Why did you choose to go to Sevilla, Spain?

For instance my aim was to work as an intern in Barcelona. In the end I was not 21 so I could't work in the company I applied for. My second choice was to work in a language school called CLIC. I had some contact with the contact person for interns and she gave me directly the feeling of being welcome to work there. I didn't know anything about Sevila only that the wheather is warm and it looks really Cultural. Actually therefore I thought that it could be a bit a boring city not as dynamic as Barcelona. In the end Sevilla is way more than that and for the ''real'' spanish traditions you should go to Sevilla.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I recieved a Scholarship for 5 months. I recieved €250, - for each month of being in Sevilla.

What is the student lifestyle like in Sevilla?

Actually I was not a student, but an intern. I think that is different. As an intern in a language school they offered me (free) courses aswell of Spanish each morning or in the afternoon (dependent of the shift). Due to what I saw and hear I think the student organisations organise a lot of nice events. With CLIC they organise trips to other places like Cordoba, Granada, Lisboa etc.

What is the food like?

The food is special. In advance I could not read the menu and I recieved a tail of a bull (I actually didn't knew that). Spain is famous for the Jamon Iberico, actually I did not like it at all. But it just depends from person to person of someone likes it or not.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Sevilla?

It was quiet easy and I would recommend to figure out some appartments before by internet and ask the owner if you could visit the homes by arrival. I stayed 3 nights in a hostel to visit some homes and based on that you can be sure you have a nice home. There are a lot of homes to rent.

How much does it cost to live in Sevilla?

I had a room close to the city center (nearby Plaza de Armas). I paid €300, - euros in a month exl. the payments for gas and electricity. There are rooms for €200-€250, - for living further. I think that is not a problem because it is quite easy to reach the city center.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, if you are in a class with spanish students you need to forbid yourself to try to speak English all the time. Sometimes I did because some some Sevilians do not take in mind that you are not Spanish. So they talk too fast and talk with different words for the region. There are courses available in a University and in languages schools.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Sevilla from your city?

If the questions means from the city I live now than the answer is plane

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Sevilla?

Close to the Guadalquivir there are some open-air clubs. And there are many places to go go out. Alfalfa, Alameda and calle Betis.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Sevilla?

It is not Spanish, but I would recommend the Italian restaurant on the corner of the bridge''Puente de Isabel II'' which leads to Triana.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Sevilla in the future?

Sevilla is adorable! I was in Sevilla for 5 months in 2011 and last summer 2013 I visited Sevilla again for a short stay. The wheather is warm (for some too warm) and the city is great. You can walk easily to all the beautiful places. Sevilla is traditional with the oranges trees, with the architecture, with the flamenco. Sometimes you see a group of people standing in the streets singing and clapping their hands. That is just Sevilla. The people are friendly and you just feel at ease from the first moment you arrive with the airplane.
