What is it like to live in Sevilla? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Seville might be the most beautiful city of the World. It comprehend history, architecture, people, and even more important, beauty.

Every each walk in Seville is different. You discover something new everyday. Despite that same path had been walked before. Sevillanos are kind of closed at the beginning, because in many cases they only speak Spanish. But if they become your friends, they will give everything to you. Maybe they do not keep being your friend forever. But during the moments you share, they will be extremely kind and will try to make you enjoy.

It would be recommended speaking some Spanish in order to taste the real Seville. We are called "the miarmas", which means "my soul" literally. Many times, it will seem to be a little town. And you will be right.

Seville also means art and culture. We do not have great museums, but the city is a museum itself. And also, the huge amount of churches guarantee cultural richness.

We are famous for our Hollyweek and Feria. Those are things where every each person is an actor or something bigger. We all take part, and at the end, we create something nice.

What is the student lifestyle like in Sevilla?

There are parties everyday, and the Erasmus community is huge. It will be fun for sure. People from the city have different schedules, so it might be difficult being in the same page at the beginning. But after two weeks, you will become a new miarma.

How much does it cost to live in Sevilla?

It depends on your tastes. But it is a cheap city compared with the rest of western Europeans countries.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Sevilla? Is there any advice you can give?

Not really. It is a big city, and due to the economic model during the end of nineties until 2008, there are many flats. Like everywhere, you might need time, but it is not bad.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

In Seville it's better going to small "bares", where they keep cooking as always has been done. Andalusian food is great, and you'll find your dish. From fried fish to good meat. Also we had great fruits and vegetables, so in case you were vegetarian, it is a better choice than going to northern European countries.

What places would you recommend visiting in Sevilla?

The recommendation is going everywhere. That way you will find your special place. You will visit the Cathedral, Alcazar or Maestranza for sure. But you will need to lay down the sun in Triana Bay, enjoy the real flamenco in "museo del after flamenco", (please, choose the correct places and do not say yes to the first offer). The problem with Seville is that it has more places to visit that days in your life.

And everyone I know who was there, fell in love with Her.

Is it good to eat out in Sevilla? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It is great. You can go almost every where. There are places that were important for me like Bar Bugarin in Los Remedios neighbourhood, which is the kind of traditional food that will always do good. But also there are places like Los Coloniales. Fancier like Baco or El Espigon. And not only that. If you do not want to cook, or want to enjoy the real Seville at home and saving money, there's a place called Speed Pollo. Many people from the centre buy there.

Is the nightlife good in Sevilla? Where is good to go?

It is great. Go to the city centre and you'll find anything. There are not many disco's, and after a while you may get bored of it. But there is always something to do and people to meet.

What advice would you give future students heading to Sevilla?

Be open minded and enjoy. Sevillanos will be closed minded at the beginning, but try to speak in Spanish, in order to let them loose their shyness. You have many things to show us, and we will share all our beauty with you.
