Sevilla, a city full of wonders
In the past couple of years I found myself going quite often to Seville, a beautiful city in the region of Andalucìa. What makes this city so unique is the Arab influence in all the architectural structures, in fact one of its main attractions is the Alcazar, an amazing and huge Moorish palace surrounded by beautiful gardens.
It also has one of the settings for the Star wars films in Plaza de España with amazing fountains, architecture and more gardens to go around and have a little walk. It’s a really safe city, even during the night, you can happily see loads of young people and families going out to enjoy the evening and have some Tapas for dinner while admiring the wonders of the city. There is Saint Paul’s Cathedral in the centre that is absolutely breath-taking, especially during the night, when it’s surrounded by lights. It’s the most romantic city I have ever been to:
- It’s full of music from the street performers;
- A really green city with lots of adorable little parrots in the palm trees that sing while you walk along the streets;
- Very friendly people that are always happy to help;
- Full of beautiful sceneries;
And let’s not forget about one of Spain’s biggest traditions: Flamenco. It’s full of Flamenco shows that you can go to, and at the end of each show, you can get a little private lesson and learn the basic steps. And for the culture fanatics like myself, Seville has a fantastic Art Museum full of beautiful paintings. Most of them are religious themed, so I wouldn’t advise it to any atheist. The best thing about this city, is that you can get all this and more at walking distance from the centre. So it’s great for anyone with a bit of a tight budget that likes to see lots of things all at once.
