Experience in Sevilla, Spain by Ángela
What is it like to live in Sevilla? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Living in Sevilla is fantastic and I totally recommend it, even though I'm from Sevilla and my opinion may not be very objective. Sevilla is a wonderful city full of historical buildings and beautiful parks and gardens full of colours, it's also a great place where you can experience and see spectacles from Sevillian and Spanish culture and customs, full of bars and restaurants where you can have a taste of the Spanish, and especially Andalusian, gastronomy, where the price quality ratio is really good as well. The weather is perfect, except on summer, even though the days are great during the summer, the temperatures not that much as it's really hot outside but, in the city center they use some mediums to make it bearable and every building and transport is really good conditioned. Sevilla is also a city with a lot of night life so, for young people, this is a great characteristic if you like going to parties.
What is the student lifestyle like in Sevilla?
I'm not going to lie about the fact that for some students, the whole academic part was a little bit harder than in their own countries, as some international friends of mine that have come to Sevilla have told me but, still it's a great city to go and meet new people. People there are very welcoming people, though for some Spanish students it takes a little bit longer to relate with other international students as many of them may be a little insecure with their speaking other languages abilities/skills, but you'll make friends there easily.
How much does it cost to live in Sevilla?
For some international friends of mine that have come to Seville, I know they found a shared flat to stay that cost them around 300€ per month.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Sevilla has a very varied dishes, and everything taste really good. Some of my favourite typical dishes are Gazpacho, Salmorejo, Tortilla de patatas, different types of stews and the Mediterranean salad.

The places that I would recommend visiting the most are The Cathedral, The Real Alcázar, Torre del Oro, Archivo de Indias, Jardines de Murillo, Parque de María Luisa, Plaza de España, and having a walk around the city center and Barrio de Santa Cruz.
Is it good to eat out in Sevilla? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes, I think it's a great idea, at least sometime during the stay. Some of the greatest spots where you can also taste typical food from Sevilla are Casa Román, el Rinconcillo and any other bar in the city center.
Is the nightlife good in Sevilla? Where is good to go?
Yes, it's really nice. You can experience going to night clubs near the river or in the city center.
