Why did you choose to go to Seville, Spain?

I had an idea before going there that was the capital of Andalusia so it was rich in culture. Upon arriving and actually experiencing the city, it exceeded my expectations.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My university gave me a grant of about 700 euros. I think it's for one semester but I'm not sure.

What is the student lifestyle like in Seville?

The lifestyle, not only for students but for everyone, is perfect if you are a laid-back person. I loved it and would definitely consider living there in the future.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Seville to other students?

I would certainly recommend the city. It's now one of my favorite cities in the world. Compared to English universities, their education is not quite up to the standard unfortunately.

What is the food like?

There are numerous amounts of tapas bars, which are generally at a good price. There are also the standard food chains like McDonalds, Starbucks etc.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Seville?

I had to pay a deposit for my accommodation. I got it back at the end but a little less than the original because I think the extra electricity bills had been deducted.

How much does it cost to live in Seville?

I lived in the higher ends of Seville (Los Remedios) in a shared flat so it was a bit more on the expensive side (around 400 euros a month) but I'm sure you can find apartments for a lot cheaper.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I knew Spanish before I went to Seville. The accent at first was very difficult to understand but I got used to it.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Seville from your city?

I travelled from London by air.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Seville?

There are many clubs in Seville. I only went to a few in the Spring which were Abril, Hoyo and Santuario. In the summer the "terrazos" are built which are open air clubs. I would say however that I just prefer to go out to bars rather than clubs because it's easier to meet people.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Seville?

I can't remember any of the names! However I'm sure that around the Cathedral there are many good restaurants.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Plaza de España, the cathedral and the tower, the bull ring.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Seville in the future?

Don't worry, you will have the time of your life!
