Erasmus Experience in Sevilla, Spain by Jeroen
Why did you choose to go to Sevilla, Spain?
Weather, very Spanish, beautiful city, not too small or too big, not too expensive, nice beach and cities nearby...
Would you recommend the city and the University of Sevilla to other students?
Yes!
What is the food like?
Good, cheap, lots of tapas, few very hip new places but lots of nice traditional spots.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Sevilla?
Yes, you need to really look hard. Spain doesn't work well with booking in advance. I found mine on Facebook, went immediately and got it: few days in hostel first while looking isn't a bad idea.
How much does it cost to live in Sevilla?
Cheap. I paid 300 euros per month in the very center in a great apartement that I shared with a Spaniard.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Language is easy to learn. Tons of places you can take classes. Try to do some in advance though.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Sevilla from your city?
Vueling.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Sevilla?
La Alameda/Salvador or botellon by the river (Torre del Oro, Puente la Cartuja).
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Sevilla?
Casa paco (Alameda).
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Loads.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Sevilla in the future?
Just go, don't take the first apartment you see and enjoy!
