Why did you choose to go to Sevilla, Spain?

I was looking for a city with a lot of culture. A city which is unique, which is not so big, but has a lot to offer and beautiful. But above all I came here to practice my Spanish, to meet people, to experience and to get some inspiration to my studies. Sevilla was the perfect choice for me.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I am here for a semester getting 450 euros/month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Sevilla?

Vivid. There are more universities here with lots of students, with many opportunities, programs, bars, clubs, smaller festivals. The people are friendly, offering help any time you need. There are student organisations as well to make your erasmus even more colorful. Going to there programs you can get to know people easily.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Sevilla to other students?

Definitely. Sevilla has a lot to offer, there is always something to do.

I like the university as well. I am studying at the faculty of architecture. We have a lot of groupworks and projects.

What is the food like?

Going for TAPAS is always a good choice. Sharing different types of meals of small proportions is a good way to try everything. Personally, I am not a big fan of seafood, so I recommend trying paella, gazpacho and tortilla.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Sevilla?

I found my accomodation on this website.

How much does it cost to live in Sevilla?

To rent a room is around 250-350 euros/month (good location). Generally I spend 10 euros a day. But as there are a lot of towns nearby which are worth a visit I spent money on travelling too.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, everyone can apply for free language course at the University. Erasmus students speak Spanish, but the main language of conversations is Spanish.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Sevilla from your city?

From Budapest there are two ways which I would recommend: through Malaga, or through Bergamo (Milan). (I travelled with Ryanair) From the airport the transportation to get to the citycentre costs 4 euros.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Sevilla?

There are a lot of clubs and cheap bars (near to Alameda or in the district of Alfalfa) too, but the best way to start a nightout is going for a "botellón" (=streetdrinking). There is a vivid life on the streets. My favourite clubs are Casino and Uthopia.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There are many (Alcazar, Catedral, museums, buildings of expo 29/92... ), but I would like to point out the archaeological site in Santiponce (30 mins from Sevilla by public transport) which remains date back to roman times.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Sevilla in the future?

Do not hesitate to come here. I expected to spend an amazing erasmus here, well, it is even better.
