How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I was supposed to study from January until June but I had to come home in March due to Coronavirus. I received £1200 for my scholarship.

What is the student lifestyle like in Sevilla?

The student lifestyle in Sevilla is laid back and chilled. There are lots of good clubs and lots of good places to eat, it’s gorgeous.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Sevilla to other students?

I would recommend Sevilla to other students. I attended Pablo de Olavide which is just outside of the centre but still, it’s lovely.

What is the food like?

The food was the best part. Tapas are from Andalucía so it was some of the best food I’ve ever had.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Sevilla?

Using Erasmusu I found accommodation with the company RoomSevilla. Be warned: I would avoid using RoomSevilla!

How much does it cost to live in Sevilla?

It cost me 390€ a month to rent a room with RoomSevilla. Unfortunately, the room I originally wanted was taken so they offered me another room. However, I later came to realize that this room had no window and they had converted the old entrance of the flat to be another room. They also tried to take me to court when I couldn’t pay my rent because I had to spend it on a flight home to get home before the border closed. They are not understanding at all and other students I came to meet had awful experiences with them too.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Personally, I speak Spanish so I didn’t find it too hard, but there are language courses available at UPO and I imagine other universities across the city also.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Sevilla from your city?

From my city, it’s cheapest to fly directly to Sevilla from either Manchester or Edinburgh.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Sevilla?

The club Abril is very very good. Also, La Sala is good for live music and La Bicicletaria is a secret bar on Calle Feria which is lovely.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Sevilla?

Literally, every restaurant in Sevilla is good. There is not bad food.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

El Real Alcazar is my favourite.
