First of all i want to apologize for writing this blog in english. I intented to write it in german but I mustn't... you'll have to get used to it, i have to, either. Why do I write this blog? Because I want to give you an insight into the life of an Erasmus-Student in Sevilla and the great experiences I gain.. :)
Let me introduce myself: My name is Phillip, I'm a 20 years old law student from Germany and I just started my stay as an Erasmus student in Sevilla, Spain.
I have to admit that I applied for Cork, Ireland in the first place, but I'm glad I wasn't accepted there, but in Sevilla. Why? I tell you what... because I had not seen any shaft of sunlight til now. Here, in one of the most southern cities of Spain, it's from 30 to 35 degree C at the moment. Apart from that, Sevilla may be one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen in my life and the inhabitants of Sevilla may be the most friendly people i met so far.
I was afraid of having problems with the spanish language, or the andalusian dialect at the beginning (classes etc are held in spanish), but once you give it a try and start speaking it actually works! I had spanish lessons in school so I'm not a greenhorn regarding that, nevertheless you wont understand any word a Sevillan says at the beginning... That dialect is creeping shit out of you..
Sevilla is actually one big tourist attraction, the city centre is crowded with japanese, german, italian people... that makes it hard to realize that I am going to actually live here for 10 months, but I'm glad I do.
The city got countless churches, cathedrals, monument and parks, I'll post some pictures of all of them, for sure :)
So I intent to share my experiences by writing this blog but I'll be brief this time, due to the fact that I have to study for a test (hard to believe, isn't it ;))
Further entries will follow (hopefully). Till next time!
Saludos
