Entry nr 3
#OMG... it happend. It really did. It. raind.....
I mean I'm not that naiv to believe it wouldnt ever rain around here. But the truth is, the fact that it actually did, literally made me fall of my dress. Meanwhile in germany: Sunshine. Normally this aint a big deal at all, but after 60 days of sunshine and nothing but, you think: "what the hell is going wrong here?"
It also has become colder in general, i guess... 27°C has become the highest temperature this week... I know it is a shame and it is a pitty but it seems like times of 30°C and more are over. Well, it's almost the end of october I have to admit, but nevertheless it's a changing you have to get used to ;)
The good thing about the "bad" weather is that I may get to start learning for the uni at some point. Because the truth is, spanish law classes are a real dissapointment and barely able to convey knowledge at the quality of german universities. Today was the perfect example: We were supposed to have class for 2 hours and practice for another 1 1/2 hours right after. But when the professor came into the classroom 20 min later than sheduled, they decided to simply cancel the class without further ado... (?!?!?!#WTF) So in the end it'll be up to us to learn the stuff on our own... great...
The biggest challenge will definitely be the language, not the contents.... But let's consider that as a chance to concentrate on improving my speaking and listening skills.
I'm really glad workdays at the university become more structured each week. Because to be honest it was a real mess at the very beginning. Not only do spanish profs and students not seem to be interested in regulary visiting the class, but also they dont seem to want to let foreign students know about it :D
Now that I already started to talk about negative experiences, let me tell you about spanish healthcare system :/
Going out at night in a shirt while it is cold and raining may not have been the best idea in respect of maintaining my health, so it all ended up in a inflammation of the middle ear.... Great :))) So I had pressure inside my ears that almost made it impossible to hear anything... When I asked one of my spanish flatmates about a doctor he'd recommend, he told me there were two ways of seeing a doctor. The first one was to call a docter (a specialist) directely. So I did it and was about to to make an appointment, when i was told they would not accept the european health insurance card and I'd had to paid 70 Euros for that single appointment. #suckmydickiamafreakinstudentnotdonaldtrump
The second way to see a doctor was going to a public health care centre, where they would accept that european card and the appointment was for free. To cut a long story short: I (of course) decided to try that.... and got a bad consultation by a quack doctor after a 7 hours tormenting-long marathon trough the whole city (hospital-health centre-farmacy-healthcentre, all seem to be at different ends of the city) just to find out that my new contract with mastercard would have taken care of the cost for the specialist...
Another experience, but that are 7 hours of my life i am never getting back!
Enough of complaining... I am better now and that is all that matters to me at the moment.
So what's on for the next days: I am waiting for the Erasmus supporting.money, as well as for my sevici card to arrive... oh you dont know what that is? Well... screw it I'll tell you next time. Apart from that I have to take care of buying myself a ticket for a busdrive to madrid and back. I'll spend two days there - mainly because of a concert. I'm looking forward to visit Madrid, of course. And not least to forget the halloween party, seems to be a big deal here so let's wait and see ;)
Thats it for the moment, due to my little inconvenience with that damn middle ear, I haven't been able to participate in Erasmus-Life the last days, thats why you have to read about that boring healthcare centre shit. I promise, the next time you will hear from me, I'll be able to tell you about the epic beer pong night, helloween party and so on.... Till next time, see ya
Saludos
