Saudi Arabia-Home to Muslim pilgrims
I recently went on a short pilgrimage/Umrah to Saudi Arabia with my family. Throughout our flight and road travel we had to recite a dua till we reached Kaabah. We reached at Jeddah airport. On our way to Makkah, i found the most amazing palm trees in green belts.
Makkah is a populated place with Muslim pilgrims all the year round. Kaabah(Allah's home) is the most spiritually uplifting place in the entire world.
It is as if someone has put your soul at ease. You feel a sense of contentment and peace all around you. We performed our Tawaf and Umrah and left for Madinah.During the tawaf, we recited prayers and then performed the obligatory walk between Safah amd Marwah hills.Makkah is known for its dates and Zam zam water. (Delicious compared to plain water). The following pictures illustrates just one angle of the crowd coming back from the obligatory Fajr prayers; which takes place early in the morning when most of the world is sound asleep.
If you ever travel to Makkah, don't forget to indulge in Al-Baik, an amazing fast food near Haram. The best part in Makkah was that all the street shops are kept open and the shopkeepers drape a clothe over their shops and go for their obligatory prayers. You will find that not even a single person does any form of stealing near Al-Haram.
Madinah is a beautiful city built on a mountainous terrain. It is home to our last messenger's(Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W)) roza. We performed our daily prayers in Masjid Nabwi(recognized by the green dome),an enlightening experience and recited Quran as much as we could.
We remembered God as much as we could and prayed for this world and hereafter. All in all, the experience was extremely fulfilling.May Allah accept our Ibadah.
