Experience in Santiago de Compostela, Spain by Diego
How is it like to live in Santiago de Compostela? Would you recommend it? What's the city like?
It's a great city to live in because it's quite small, very safe, with numerous parties and, most important, a great artistic component (that's why it is very touristy).
How is the student life in Santiago de Compostela?
Great, especially for partying. Most parties are organised on Thursdays and it is when all the students go out to party around the city.
On average, how much do you spend in Santiago de Compostela?
On average, including accommodation, electricity, gas, meals and personal expenses, I spend approximately 350€ per month.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Santiago de Compostela? Could you give any advice?
No, it is fairly easy (just check some websites on the Internet).
How is the food? What are your favourite dishes?
It is great. Gastronomy in Galicia, in general, is very rich and tasteful.
What places do you recommend visiting in Santiago de Compostela?
Party places: Tarasca, Avanta or Pozo. For a cheap meal, lunch or dinner, the Don Manuel bar (near the Philology Faculty) with an extensive menu and affordable prices.
Do you have any advice for future students coming to Santiago de Compostela?
Visit Galicia whenever you can, it is a very interesting, rich and beautiful region.
