Why did you choose to go to Santiago de Compostela, Spain?
My university department has agreements with Universidade de Santiago de Compostela and the other German universities, but I wanted to go to Spain that's why I choose this city.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My scholarship is about 5 months. My university gives me about 2000 euro but also my family send me 5000 euro, I guess.
What is the student lifestyle like in Santiago de Compostela?
The city is small but cute. You need to know Spanish of course because the city residents don't know English. Especially night life is very good for students.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Santiago de Compostela to other students?
The city and university are good but I think the biggest problem is language. Most of the students don't know english or embrassed to talk english.
What is the food like?
You can find every type of food.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Santiago de Compostela?
My friends were in Santiago when I went there, that's so I didn't search for an apartment or anything. But I know that it's not hard to find an apartment, there are a lot of cheap apartments available in the city.
How much does it cost to live in Santiago de Compostela?
It's not expensive living in santiago. There are a lot of supermarkets and you can cook your own food. The night life is also cheap too.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available in the University?
Spanish is not hard to learn but at first, you may find it very hard. Especially spanish people talks too fast and you can't understand anything when they talk.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Santiago de Compostela from your city?
I live in Ankara, Turkey so I traveled by plane.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Santiago de Compostela?
Erasmus group would help you about this. They always organized night out plans.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Santiago de Compostela?
I really don't remember any restaurant names
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
You must see the cathedral of course and the old town, they are very good. Also you can go La Coruna, Vigo and Isles Islands.
Is there any other advice that you could give to future students who are going to Santiago de Compostela?
Learn spanish before you go.
