What is it like to live in San Diego? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in San Diego was a great experience. I loved the mixture of big city and laid-back beach atmosphere.

What is the student lifestyle like in San Diego?

Most of the students lived in Pacific Beach where there are parties or other events going on almost every night. San Diego is full of students from all over the world.

How much does it cost to live in San Diego?

Living in San Diego was quite expensive. Public transport is rather cheap but other living expenses as food, rent etc. are very expensive.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in San Diego? Is there any advice you can give?

San Diego is full of students, therefore there are many student housing or you can find a room on craigslist very fast.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food in San Diego is influenced by the Mexicans, since it's so close to the border.

What places would you recommend visiting in San Diego?

There are a lot of great places to visit in San Diego, e.g. Old Town, Gaslamp Quarter, La Jolla, Seaport Village, etc.

Is it good to eat out in San Diego? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

My favorite spot is the Mexican restaurant at Fiesta del Reyes in Old Town. Other than that San Diego has a lot of the usual fast food chains.

Is the nightlife good in San Diego? Where is good to go?

If you want to party without spending so much money I'd recommend going out in Pacific Beach. If you like high-class parties you should go to one of the clubs downtown, e.g. Stingaree.

What advice would you give future students heading to San Diego?

I'd recommend to move to Pacific Beach. There are students from all over the world, you're never alone and there's always something going on. You should enjoy the beach but also don't miss all the other great things San Diego has to offer. And don't miss Las Americas Outlet!!!
