I can't advice you because I never lived in Salerno in another apartments than mine, but I think still that the prices are low.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is simply fantastic. Can I make a list of the things you can find?

Pizza, calzoni, arancini, pizzette, gelati, panini, mozzarelle, pomodori, cozze, vongole, telline, pasta, frutti di mare etc.

What places would you recommend visiting in Salerno?

I think you have to go to the coast like Amalfi, Positano Palinuro, but also Acciaroli and Paestum. And since you are quite close, take a look to Naples and Pompei.

Is it good to eat out in Salerno? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I think for Erasmus students they can easily go to pizzeria Arechi and they shoud definetely try bar Nettuno and bar la Madegra for ice cream.

For coffe there is a bar called H24.

For pizza maybe the best is "Pulcinella" but it is in Pontecagnano...not in the centre.

If you want to spend more money, you could go to Kursal restaurant... 40 euros but it's worth it.

Is the nightlife good in Salerno? Where is good to go?

In summer people gathers in "la rotonda".

What advice would you give future students heading to Salerno?

  • Go during the summer and enjoy,
  • Don't stay in Fisciano but get a place in the city,
  • And learn italian.
