Why did you choose to go to Salerno, Italy?

I was advised by a friend.

How long does the scholarship last? How much financial support do you receive?

9 months, 600 euros per month.

How is the student life in Salerno?

It's concentrated, more or less, in the University Campus of Fisciano in a town near Salerno, where the majority of students from Salerno and the neighbouring villages attend classes.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Salerno to other students?

Yes

How's the food of the country?

Superb

Did you have any trouble finding accommodation in Salerno?

It took me a week because I would rather not share the house with Spanish students, so it took a while to find room mates at first.

How much does it cost to live in Salerno?

Supermarket prices were a little bit more expensive than Spain, while for the clothing stores it depends.

What about the language? Did you attend a University course?

I didn't attend any class and I didn't have troubles although I recommend those to obtain some official certificate.

Anyway, if you can't attend these courses, the best thing to do is to make some Italian friends to learn the language as quickly as possible.

What is the most economical way to travel to Salerno from your hometown?

A bus from Seville, then a flight to Rome and then take a bus from Rome (which is usually cheaper than the train Rome-Salerno)

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Salerno?

In the city centre near the promenade. And during the summer there are discos outside the city.

What about the food in Salerno? Could you recommend your favourite places?

All the restaurants were fine to me

What about the cultural must-see's?

There are tons of possibilities as to Salerno's location, not only the city has endless monuments which all are worth paying a visit to but also the surrounding areas such as the Amalfi Coast or Naples, which are interesting places you could visit.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Salerno in the future?

Enjoy the experience to its fullest because you always learn something, the good and the bad.
