Why did you choose to go to Salerno, Italy?

My dream was to go to Prague o Amsterdam. But none of that came true, so life brought me here, in Salerno.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I am staying here for 10 months. For one year I will get 4500 euros.

What is the student lifestyle like in Salerno?

Lively. It is never boring and everyday is a mystery.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Salerno to other students?

Of course. Now that I am here I really think this was made for me. People are nice, the weather is great, the landscape is amazing and the food... no comments!

What is the food like?

I could write many books about it, one probably dedicated just to pizza, yet another to mozzarella, again one to the fresh pomodori...

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Salerno?

Yes. I was very lucky and I found a perfect place in the centre. I share it with amazing people. I found it with the help of other Erasmus people, and it is quite cheap for Salerno (not for Slovenian standard though)

How much does it cost to live in Salerno?

I pay 200 euro per month for rent, more than 30 euro for the bus, around 80 per month for food, and I prefer not to think about the money spent on drinks and parties. But I get quite well through the month with the scholarship and some money I saved while working in Slovenia.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available in the University?

Yes, there are and they are very good, free and full-time. The teacher, Annalisa, is a legend. People speak slowly if you ask them, so it is ok.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Salerno from your city?

The best way is to do it by plane, but there is a Polski bus, which is very cheap.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Salerno?

My favourite one is a bar called Love Story, because it is near the place we live in. Otherwise everywhere I went with Erasmus groups was great. Also, Largo Campo is quite enjoyable.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Salerno?

I just remember the best icecream shop in Natuno and some bakeries in Baba Napoli or something like that.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The city itself, since it is very nice and I also like the historical part. Also there are many villages near Salerno, which are amazing! And they are not far from Napoli, Pompei and other interesting places.

Is there any other advice that you could give to future students who are going to Salerno?
