What is it like to live in Salamanca? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The city is awesome. Totally recommended. Full of life and party. You'll enjoy a lovely city centre with multiple monuments and landscapes.

What is the student lifestyle like in Salamanca?

The students lifestyle is pretty cool. People usually meet at mates' houses before going out. Once you are out, you are able to choose different parts of the city which will surely be collapsed by pubs and their special drinks. It doesn't matter which music you like, you'll be able to find a pub that suits you.

Talking about studies, there are two universities: USAL and UPSA (google it! ) both very well known in Spain, and their campuses are within the city centre.

How much does it cost to live in Salamanca?

It is not an expensive city. Everything is very close in here. From one point of the city to the opposite there is an hour/an hour and 15 minutes - walk, so you rarely will need any public transport. In case you need it, buses tickets cost 1, 20€.

Food and other essentials are cheap as well. If you are thinking on going out or going to the cinema, you'll be in one of the cheapest cities in Spain to do that.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Salamanca? Is there any advice you can give?

It isn't very hard to find. There are tons of student halls in the city. If you prefer sharing a flat, you will find rooms for about 200-250€ per month.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is fantastic. The Jamón ibérico from Salamanca is one of the most famous in the country. There is no Paella here but there is Chanfaina, typical on Sundays. Another regional food worthy to try is Farinato. Meat from this region is very good as well. In addition, there are many good restaurants in the city with economical prices.

What places would you recommend visiting in Salamanca?

All the city centre. University, Plaza Mayor, Cathedrals (there are two), Casa Lis, etc. Ask the tourist office, they will tell you what to visit.

Is it good to eat out in Salamanca? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, it is. Restaurants are not too expensive and most of them have really nice meals. One of my favourites is Restaurante Jero, close to the Plaza Mayor.

Is the nightlife good in Salamanca? Where is good to go?

Nightlife is lively and cheap. You can go anywhere in the city because distance between nightlife areas are ridiculous (10 minutes-walk). Just choose the pub you like the most. There isn't entry charge on any of them.
