Erasmus Experience in Salamanca, Spain by Laoise
Why did you choose to go to Salamanca, Spain?
I chose to come to Salamanca as it is synonymous with students, Erasmus and being a beautiful city. I knew some people who studied there before and they said they really enjoyed it. Also it's quiet easy to get to, a short bus ride from Madrid. All these factored into my decision to come to Salamanca.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My scholarship is for one academic year, I am not sure of the exact figure as we haven't been told how much our second installment is. If I had to guess I think we will receive 1500 in total.

The food is great, restaurants, cafés, there are about a million of them, and not all of which are expensive which is great.

I pay 190 for rent per month, which includes bills. I then pay about 80 a month on food, 40 on going out, like cinema etc. Salamanca is a cheap place to live, perfect for students.

The are language courses available which is brilliant as some universities accept credit for them.
