What advice would you give future students heading to Saint Petersburg?
Be careful, don't trust too much on words. As any megapolis, Saint-Petersburg attracts both the best and the worst. Prepare to the big cultural difference if you come from Europe or even further places. Learn that Russian people do not smile too much on public, but this doesn't mean an attitude to you. The thing is the Russian people so not open their soul to any stranger, but as soon as you get to know someone, you'll definitely feel the care.
Be open-minded and don't hesitate to ask local people for any reason. Maybe they won't speak English but will be willing to help.
