Why did you choose to go to Saint-Étienne, France?

Because I speak French!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship lasted for 6 months and I received about 2,500 euros.

Definitely yes!

What is the food like?

I liked French cuisine very much!

Was it difficult to find your accommodation in Saint-Étienne?

No. I booked it on the internet before I arrived at Saint-Étienne!

How much does it cost to live in Saint-Étienne?

I think it costs about 400-600 euros (including accommodation, meals, transport, food expenses and entertainment).

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the university?

Yes, courses are attended by all Erasmus students. Students are assigned to groups based on their language level (Beginner, etc. ).

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Saint-Étienne from your city?

I travelled from Greece to Lyon by plane and then I took the train to Saint-Étienne.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Saint-Étienne?

There are many bars and pubs. I'm sure you wouldn't like to miss Wednesday's parties, because SaVA (an organisation that helps Erasmus students) organises big parties on that day!

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Saint-Étienne?

I liked Saint-Étienne's restaurants as well as the university's refectories.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Saint-Étienne in the future?

Take warm clothes and get in touch with the SaVA organization—you can find it on Facebook too. Be prepared for a wonderful experience in your life!
