August 24th, 25th and 26th,
Me and my friends from the EILC organized a trip to Norway. Who doesn't want to see Norway? We rented a car and two vans and went on our way.
I have to say, I was scared to go on a car where young people were driving, but they were good drivers, we were safe ;).
I think we drove like 7 hours to our destination in Norway, we arrived around 2 a.m., were just tired and went to bed in the accommodation we had. It was small, everyone wanted to take a shower in the morning, but that was what we got, and no complaints here because at least we woke up in Norway and the scenery was unbelievable!
Mountains with snow and the lakes...oh my god, this country is beautiful!
First stop: Narvik. We hiked a norwegian mountain! It was a hard walk, but once you get to the top, the view is stunning! It was freezing cold, though! There was a restaurant on the top, but everything is so expensive in Norway! More than in Finland.
And that's how we spent our first day. Then we drove some more to the second accommodation (there you have to drive a lot, of course because there's lots of mountains so nothing is near).
When we got to our cottages, we were so happy because they were lovely and beautiful! And the bathroom was so much better than the previous one, I was just so happy to have such a great accommodation. I needed some time alone and to rest so I skipped the party my friends had in their cottage and went to bed ;).
Waking up in this new place was wonderful. I had a good night of sleep in a comfortable cottage and when I woke up, had breakfast and went outside to take some pictures - you can see how nice the place was - of the sea, of the mountains...it was stunning. My favorite place from the trip.
Then, we packed and went to Lofoten, which is a really small archipelago. You can see the whole place in like, 2 hours or less, but I really liked Lofoten. The houses were all different colors and the smell of the sea reminded me of home.
After Lofoten, guess what? We hiked another norwegian mountain! It was scary because there were some steep parts and kind of wet from the rain, so I could see myself falling down or something, but it didn't happen. It was a hard walk, but I had to keep up with my friends, and when we got the top, once again, beautiful view and sense of accomplishment. It rained a little bit and then we even had a rainbow! Going down, everything was wet, but once we reached the road I just felt like jumping and running for I was so happy! :).
Then, we had a 12h journey ahead of us. I could sleep the whole time because I wasn't driving, so the drivers got to Rovaniemi really tired, but everyone loved Norway and I totally recommend you to visit this country.
