My Erasmus life in Rotterdam by Seila-Ya
Why did you choose to go to Rotterdam, Holland?
I would say that I chose Rotterdam, not because of the city itself but because of the university.
It is one of the most recognized university in Europe, offers very practical courses and an exchange program.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I was lucky to be able to receive the studiefinanciering (the same system no longer exists), thus the government provides me with financial help during my studies in the Netherlands. I receive around 300 euros per month, and it is sufficient for everyday spending.
What is the student lifestyle like in Rotterdam?
You can count on Rotterdam for parties and associations. Then make sure to celebrate the end of your exams.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
No and yes.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Rotterdam from your city?
The train system is amazing here in the Netherlands. You have trams, metro, trains that can bring to the most unknown places in the country.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Rotterdam?
Mmmmh... there is no "best place to go" as long as the party is fun!
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Roterdão in the future?
Bring a rain coat, because it rains a lot...!
