Why did you choose to go to Rotterdam, Netherlands?

I went to Rotterdam to complete a 3-month business internship. I chose Rotterdam because of its modern vibe and numerous activities. It was an easy choice, you can do anything in Rotterdam!

How long was your stay? How much financial aid did you receive?

My stay lasted 3 months, from the start of May to the end of July. I was entitled to the Erasmus grant so I received slightly more than 900 euros in total.

What was student life like in Rotterdam?

Unfortunately I didn't experience the student life as I was working in a business.

Would you recommend this city and university to other students?

I would strongly recommend going to Rotterdam because it offers an enormous range of possibilities, especially professional opportunities.

What was the food like in Rotterdam?

The country has various specialties, including Bitterballen (delicious). In Rotterdam there is a wide range of restaurants offering international cuisine from around the world. The restaurants are of a wide variety. You will always eat well for cheap.

Did you struggle to find accommodation in Rotterdam?

Accommodation in Rotterdam was the only difficulty that I experienced. I was lucky because before my arrival a friend recommended a flat to me and it happened to be free! However, many foreign students end up without any accommodation or they often have to change plans. Certainly the best way to find accommodation is to sort it in advance.

What is the living cost in Rotterdam?

Life in Rotterdam is expensive due to accommodation costs and the price of transport which are extremely costly. However, high quality food isn't too expensive.

Le Biergarten! There are many good places to go out in Rotterdam.

Where were your favourite places to eat?

My favourite places were Markthal and Happy Italie.

Which cultural spots would you recommend?

The museums in Rotterdam are very nice.

Any advice for future students in Rotterdam?

Do your best to find accommodation in advance so that you don't have any problems when you get there. Ensure you have a big budget for transport and accommodation. Good luck!
