Why did you choose to go to Rotterdam, Netherlands?

As many other European cities, Rotterdam is a nest of international young people. The city is modern and convenient to travel around. A vast range of food can be found in the city, from exquisite Asian foods to local food trucks. Rotterdam is also well-known for the night life and definitely an exciting city for party-lovers.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I don’t have any scholarship, I live with the minimum salary of my internship and a part-time job.

Student life is quite convenient and fun.

Yes, I definitely will recommend young students to stay a period in Rotterdam.

If you are a foodie, you will definitely like Rotterdam! Rotterdam is characterized by its multiethnic environment, so a vast array of food can be found in the city from Asian-style restaurants or western fast food to local food trucks or markets.

Yes, accomodation was the most problematic issue I had so far. Be aware of scammers on not reliable sources of accomodation. I recommend to pay some fee to get to secured websites.

For money-saving people, you can perfectly live for 250 euros per month. If you travel frequently and you eat often out, probably 350 or more is needed.

The good point to be in the Netherlands is that everyone speaks English, so no language barrier at all.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Rotterdam from your city?

Rotterdam is a well-communicated City. There is a small airport in Rotterdam called The Hague where you can easily get to the city center by bus. I usually flight to The Hague instead of Schipol since you save time and money. Other ways to travel to Rotterdam is by train or bus (more economical) from surrounding countries (Belgium, France, Germany, etc)

I totally recommend you Witte de Withstraat. There, you can find small local pubs/bars and restaurants to enjoy a pleasant night with your friends.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Rotterdam in the future?

If you like trying different food, try to go to Fénix Food Factory, you probably will like it.
