Why did you choose to go to Rotterdam, Netherlands?

Because the University had a really good Master programme

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I don’t receive a scholarship

What is the student lifestyle like in Rotterdam?

It’s really entertaining, there is always something going on and it is full of international students

Would you recommend the city and the University of Rotterdam to other students?

Definitely yes

What is the food like?

There are a lot of international cuisines, so you never get tired!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Rotterdam?

Yes, it was a long process and I was very unlucky in the beginning

How much does it cost to live in Rotterdam?

I think the housing prices here are very expensive compared to Italy

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I find Dutch a hard language but fortunately everybody speaks perfect English so I didn’t have any troubles at all. The university offers a wide range of language courses as well

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Rotterdam from your city?

I drove by car, but there are also cheap flights directly from Rotterdam, Amsterdam or Eindhoven

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Rotterdam?

If you are planning to go for drinks I would definetely recommend the bars on Witte or Thoms in Meent. If you are more into clubbing I would recommend Annabel.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Rotterdam?

Very Italian Pizza is pretty good, Hotel Bazar and Jarmusch also

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Delfshaven, the Photography Museum, Euromast, Maritime Museum

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Rotterdam in the future?

Prepare yourselves for the crazy weather, but once you get used to it you are going to have the time of your lives
