Why did you choose to go to Rotterdam, Netherlands?

Got accepted for internship from a global transportation company. Always fancied the thought going abroad and see around.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

For me it is a long-term internship, 8 months. Considering the agreement between Erasmus program and my school and the distribution policy which my university follow. I only got %70 of my total payment (1200 €) and will get the rest if I complete the program successfully. Which is of course not sufficient it only helped for the orientation period.

What is the food like?

Dutch cuisine is a puzzle and to understand it you should know their history as well. It is majorly a mixture of Indonesian, Surinamese, Turkish, European cuisines. I personally don't recommend Pindasaus, which is like ketchup for Dutch.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Rotterdam?

Yes, housing is already a problem for the people here too and if you consider trying to find at least a room to rent from abroad it is harder. Real-estate agent are not so common here, so market usually works on web, which you have to pay to apply eventually.

How much does it cost to live in Rotterdam?

1000€-1200€/month will be fine to live fully. You can do with less as well depending on your rent.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Don't know about the university but language courses are available. If you are coming from a country has a close language will be so easy, though pronunciation is not very easy.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Rotterdam?

Rotterdam Centrum, where you can find every kind of places depending on your choice.
