Hey, my dear friends!

Today I checked my albums and found a lot of interesting pictures. So, I was thinking to share with you again a really nice gallery about one wonderful salt mine located in Romania.

Source

14. 02. 2017 I had an opportunity to visit the salt mine of Salina Turda, which is located in the Durgău-Valea Sărată area of Turda, the second largest city in Cluj County, Romania. This mine was first mentioned in 1075. It was opened to tourists in 1992.

In this underground former salt mine, visitors are able to play ping pong and chess. Also, they are able to work out by using exercise machines. In addition, there are a playground for children, swings, tennis court.

As you can see from the following photos, there is also a church area.

Things what I really liked about this place:

  • Air circulation
  • Heat insulation
  • Lighting system
  • Attractions for children and adults
  • Free WC
  • Transportation to the salt mine and back
  • Museum
  • Souvenir shop
  • Cafeteria
  • Coffee machine
  • Working church
  • Decoration
  • Safety

Why did I decide to write this list?

Because this place is located under the ground. Normally these kind of places should be damp and wet, I mean not comfortable at all. But this was an amazing place, to where you can go for picnic or just for relax.

Interesting facts about this area, based on my own experience:

  • I saw only small sized dogs, but no big dogs.
  • Streets are full of harmless dogs.
  • People in this area are mainly poor.
  • There are a lot of gypsies, for example these gentlemen with a horse.
  • Pay attention – there is a number plate on the horse trolley.
  • People are mostly polite.
  • This area is surrounded by beautiful nature.

Following photos should describe my experience there in the best way:
