Why did you choose to go to Reykjavík, Iceland?
I chose Iceland for the adventure, for the rich art and design culture and to discover an unknown country.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I was there for 2 months and I received nothing, just living with what I earned the year before.
What is the student lifestyle like in Reykjavík?
I wasn't a student here but there are so many things to do, and the population is young and very open minded.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Reykjavík to other students?
Sure!
What is the food like?
Quite expensive of course even if you try to eat local food. There is a lot of fish and their cuisine is influenced by American and Northern-europe food.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Reykjavík?
It's quite hard to find a cheap accomodation of course, you have to be active and alert on websites to jump on each opportunity you have.

Not cheap
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Coming from French/Spanish/English language style it was not easy for me to understand Icelandic. It is closer to German, for example.
But most people understand and speak English except old and very young people.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Reykjavík from your city?
From Nantes, France, the easiest way was to take the train to Paris then a plane to Keflavík airport and finally a bus to Reykjavík.

Hlemmur square is a very good place to go to.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Reykjavík?
You have a lot of different types of restaurants all very good but be careful with tourists ones; )
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
There are so many, just find some roadtrip websites like Cecile-ailleurs (french) and make your choice!

Enjoy! Everything is possible, go out, don't be shy, meet people, rent a car, enjoy freedom and nature's strength.
