Prescott, Arizona

Prescott is a smaller city a couple hours outside of phoenix located in mountain area. Prescott is a very cool city to explore, there is lots of history here and great hikes. There are a lot of historic museums here because it is an old cowboys town! You can tell by the historic whiskey row. It looks just like a western movie!

Sharlot hall museum- this is a great place to learn a little history. You learn about Arizona’s history as well as Prescott’s. You get to see the first houses built here and why people settled here in the first place. You get to see the governor’s mansion, I mean back then it is was a mansion no now! The museum is not very big so it will not take up a lot of your time, probably just a couple hours depending on how fast you see everything. 

Downtown historic area- this is a fun area and looks just like an old western movie. The downtown area was built around the courthouse square. This square is used a lot for art shows and farmers markets. This is a fun time to go because they have lots of different products. The art is very beautiful and some is even Indian because of the Native American presence in Arizona. They also always have a different variety of food, which is good. One of my favorite stands to eat at is the samosa stand, they are incredible! There are sometimes even musicians playing which is nice to sit on the grass and listen. There’s a lot of bench and seating area on the grass if you wanted to enjoy the day and sit out there. In this area is also the famous whiskey row. Whiskey row is a very fun place, lots of bars and restaurants. One of my favorite places here is the candy shop. It is like an old candy shop decorated amazing with a ton of candy! All homemade it is the best and they have such a variety. This is a fun place to go out at night because they have live music at a lot of the bars. The restaurants are all very good here as well!

There are many lakes n Prescott where you can go walk around and have a picnic or hike. The outdoors here is beautiful and you should really take advantage of it. 

Heritage park zoo- this is a great zoo and it is not that big so it feels more cozy. They have a lot of rescued birds and animals and there’s always staff walking around.

Smoki museum-this is one of my favorite museums because it is all about the Native Americans. There is a twist to the museum, so it may not be all that you think but it is fun to go! There is a lot of great Native American art.
