Trip to Prague

It was 8 pm when I came from university and started preparing for the Prague trip. The departure time of the bus from Warsaw to Prague was at 11 pm. Till then, I went to a market to buy some snacks to eat during the trip. And then I came to the bus station. I took a seat from the 2nd floor of the bus to see outside from higher. But it was a disaster. The weather was foggy and impossible to enjoy the road. Anyway hanging on the internet and enjoying snacks made me sleep faster. When I woke up outside was dark, foggy, and the bus was slowing down to stop at Florenc (Prague) Bus Station. The time was 4.am and it was earlier than I expected and I had not booked any hostel or hotel room for my one-day trip.

Anyway, I got off the bus and started walking toward the city center to find an exchange point. Despite the time I could see someone that was leaving from pubs, clubs. Then I found an open exchange point at that time. Later I started looking for open restaurants at 5 am to get avoid freezing weather and have some breakfast. At the last I did. When I stepped into the restaurant, the staff came and said they are closed today. But it was the only restaurant I could find at that time. I was a bit tired and sat on a bank in a park. Hunger and cold weather was a disaster.

Before sunrise, I continued walking. During my exploration, I saw the river and later a beautiful bridge, the Charles Bridge which was full of historical statues. The atmosphere of that place was like in tales in my childhood. Another fascinating view from the bridge was the Tower in Old Town and in the opposite side Prague Castle. Both were amazing. I started walking toward the Old Town square to explore and take some photos.

In the middle of the day, I was tired and hungry enough. So I bought a piece of national Czech sweet trdelnik from one of the shops in Old Town square. I took a seat and enjoyed the entire beauty of the historic city while I was eating my trdelnik.

I also visited Prague Castle (I recommend everyone to visit), the Astronomical Clock, and National Museum where was partly closed for restoration. When I was walking the modern side of the city I noticed a tall building, the Television Tower of Prague. I could not miss that opportunity to look at Prague from there and I got into the tower. In there I got some amazing photos of over 93m of the city.

And it was time to turn back and time was already 10 pm. I decided to walk to Florenc Central Bus Station to explore more. I had an hour till the bus departing at 11 pm, so I went to the taste some traditional foods and I did. I had some sausages with mixed sauce, the Czech Republic is known for its tasty sausages and of course traditional beer. Both were tasty. Later I was in my seat on the bus.

This trip was a good experience in my life…
