First big-eyed visions of Prague

Ok, even if my Erasmus stay in Prague starts in one week, I've already been there a few times, as I live in Slovakia, which is next to Czech Republic. These are the things I've already got amazed by in Prague without being an Erasmus student.

  1. The architecture. Yes, I know that you already know. But it's not cause everybody says Prague is beautiful: it REALLY looks like from a fairytale. If you like cute small old streets, surrounded by hundreds of towers, you'll lose your speech. Or get lost yourself, as I did (lack of orientation ability).

  2. The beer. I didn't even like beer before I came to Prague. But there's something with Czech beer that makes it so delicious. And if you're not from Slovakia like me, you'll perhaps find it very cheap, too. An extra tip: Come to Prague on Maundy Thursday (in springtime); only on this special day, they are selling green beer. Yes, you're reading right. It gets its colour from some secret herbs and is green like a flubber. (With my friends on the picture. )

  3. The parks. They are many and huge; Prague is a romantic, healthy, sporty, good-looking and whatever-you-add place. The park that caught my interest the most (from the few I saw) was Divoká Šárka, which lies a bit outside the centre, but really looks like wild nature. It's a little hill with rocks, meadows and small forests on. When I stepped out of the bus, I saw only McDonald's, and behind it... Rocky Mountains? It's really a view you don't expect in the city. You can get there with bus or tram. If you live at the campus Větrník or Hvězda, you have it really close.

  4. The tourists. In the old parts of the city, especially in the summer, they are so many that you never get used to them. If you want to go another direction or cross the crowded street, it's like swimming upstreams or crossing Niagara. It can be irritating when you're in a hurry, but if you like the warmth of human bodies, then you will have a good day.

Now I'm curious about what more I'll discover in Prague from the next week on!
