Why did you choose to go to Piraeus, Greece?

Actually I did not choose Greece-Piraeus on my own. It was a programme(Global and European Studies) specifically designed for my course (MA.Roads to Democracy. University of Siegen) in Germany. Prior to that, I had heard and read about some Greek philosophers and their contribution to Education and Ancient Greece as the cradle of Democracy and therefore, wanted to have first-hand information. Basically, that was partly the reason why I decided to be part of the programme.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Piraeus in the future?

Piraeus is a good place to be as a student. You can find good places of relaxation to do your private studies. However, I will advise you to avoid trouble while in Piraeus. Don't buy anything on the street without taking a receipt. There are various items offered for sale especially along the ports. Most of them are stolen items so take note of that. Again if you are in hurry don't take a stationary Taxi from the port. Try a moving one on the street. The stationary taxi at the port will wait till its full before taking off which may delay you.
