What is the student lifestyle like in Piraeus?

It is great that all erasmus students are connected thrue ESN events. Events of different kinds, from parties to picnics, trips and walks of dogs.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Piraeus to other students?

You gonna have a lot of free time because University does not provide any lectures on english (maybe they will next year). But there is always ESN and there events almost every day to have fun and meet new friends.

What is the food like?

All greek food is really tasty. The best thing you gonna try is souvlaki, nevermind what time of day is, it is always time for souvlaki.
University has restaurant where meals are free for UniPi students. Food is good there, but it always depends on your preferences.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Piraeus?

Pireus is combined with Athens, so it is almost the same to live in Piraeus or Athens, you just have to use public transport. Prices for apartments are between 200-400 euros. Public transport ticket for one month is 15 euros.

How much does it cost to live in Piraeus?

It depends which country you arrive from. Prices are really high for everything, the best thing place to go shopping for food is LIDL or open markets, every neighborhood has open market once a week.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

This year we didn't have any courses, not languages not anything. But University of Piraues is connected with Athens University so you can learn greek there.
