Why did you choose to go to Piacenza, Italy?

I chose to come to Piacenza because it is a small city, thus you can experience the true Italian culture with locals unlike big cities that are more international.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I do not have a scholarship.

What is the student lifestyle like in Piacenza?

It is very calm environment, where you can study, walk through the city and make some really good friends. Also, most of the Italians here are so sweet and they always offer you help when they see that you are a lost foreigner.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Piacenza to other students?

Yes, definitely. I highly recommend Politecnico di Milano in Piacenza, and even POLIMI students from different campuses should visit Piacenza for its rich architecture and culture.

What is the food like?

Food is good here, although i haven't been in a lot of restaurants yet.

However, here they are very well known for horse meat.

Actually i was very lucky since me and my friend found an apartment directly without an agency, but agencies cost a lot.

Average rent in Piacenza in 230-300 euros excluding electricity, gas and water which are really expensive!

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

At first I had a lot of trouble because i didn't know any italian, and no almost no one talks in english here especially at the post office where you should submit the stay permit. But don't worry you'll catch up on the language really fast.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Piacenza from your city?

From Lebanon, the prices are almost the same from any travel agency.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Piacenza?

The best street in Piacenza is Corso Vittorio Emanuele. This street has a wide variety of bars that stays till late at night.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Piacenza?

Santa Rita is a very good restaurant, and it is near the campus.

Piazza Cavalli, Duomo, Mura Farnesiane, Palazzio Fanese...

Bring warm clothes with you, it's really cold and foggy!
