What is it like to live in Pau? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
The city is small simple, nice people, nice weather comparing to the north.
What is the student lifestyle like in Pau?
I spend 2 years in Pau partying most of the time, there is around 300 international students (erasmus, usac, evs, etc. ) what makes the city really rich culturally. I made friends from many countries around the world.
How much does it cost to live in Pau?
The rent (without the coffee) :
240 in a 9 meters square (residence)
300 to 380 in 18 meters square (residence)
Then living in an apartment depends on how many people are sharing, the size and the location of the apartment. But I would say between 200 and 400.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Pau? Is there any advice you can give?
I haven't got any problems.
To have a room in a residence you must reserve it in advance like 2 or 3 months before entering.
For the apartment it depends.
What is the food like? What are your favorite dishes?
I had student dishes most of the time. It is not bad.
What places would you recommend visiting in Pau?
The castle of Henry 4th
The river
Is it good to eat out in Pau? Can you tell us your favorite spots?
There is a bar/restaurant called "Garage" that makes amazing burgers
Is the nightlife good in Pau? Where is good to go?
Hoegarden each Wednesday (karaoke night)
What advice would you give future students heading to Pau?
You have the right to make one Erasmus so better enjoy it.
